An increasing number of engineering schools incorporate entrepreneurship programs into their curriculum. Besterfield–Sacre along with other colleagues conducted a preliminary study of the programs of engineering schools in the United States. The main differences between the programs were the density of their offerings and Carnegie Classification. This study suggests that engineering schools create entrepreneurship programs in collaboration with industry partners. Students can develop new business ideas through entrepreneurship programs.

Innovation Orientation

Engineers should be able to identify areas that could benefit from innovative approaches. Innovation orientation is influenced largely by the success and performance of new projects. NGDO has a favorable reputation for this. This relationship has been suggested to be indirect and mediated by variables in previous studies. This study examines innovation orientation and the role of new project. We provide both a theoretical framework for improvement in innovation orientation within engineering teams.

Entrepreneurial intentions of men and women are different. We examined the role of different factors in determining entrepreneurial intention in engineering students. In particular, we examined whether being a part of entrepreneurship activities or attending a research institute is a good predictor of entrepreneurial intention. We also looked at whether students from different socioeconomic backgrounds are more likely be entrepreneurs. These variables had a relationship that showed that students with entrepreneurial intentions are more likely pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions.
